Paul and Corrie Celebrate One Year!

Do you remember Paul and Corrie? You first met them when they were celebrating their engagement, and then we watched them get married. Because the day of their wedding was sooooooooo cold, we talked about getting back together to “finish” photos. Sadly, they forgot to read my mind and what I REALLY wanted was to go rock the dress, so unfortunately, we will have to meet up again for more pictures. Oh, woe is me…

On the bright side, I got to see them (for a bit longer than just Corrie running by when I was photographing another couple) and they are just as mature as ever. Also, it was probably best she wasn’t dressed in white, because we did a fine job at attempting to ruin our shoes. Colorado winters are tricky with the snow and thaw, snow and thaw.

Our session together started off lovely and sweet at their new home —

And…it quickly escalated to silly from there, as one would fully expect from these two!

(See some snowball fight shots here.)

Yet, even when they are being silly, they are still super adorbs. Nose crinkle!

In addition to the mud issue, we were also battling the sun. We knew we had a very limited amount of sunlight before we had no sun at all. Again, Colorado winters are fun to work with when it comes to light, too. So we walked and they played.

We worked where we could, and don’t they just make it look like there weren’t any issues at all?

The whole time, I was looking for standing water, a puddle, something for a reflection shot. This was as close as we got.

While we were taking these shots, Corrie’s dad came running by! You just never know who you’re going to run into. Thankfully, he’s much more mature than Corrie.

Paul handled the surprise as well as any son-in-law could, I guess…by throwing snowballs.

Then we got back to the serious act of photos. Or something like that.

We did, however, manage to end on a lovely note.

We spend an extraordinary amount of time laughing when we are together. I love every second I get to see you two. And I can’t wait for our next session (so, let’s, like, get that scheduled!). HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! (A bit of a late greeting here, but you get the point…)
